Hi... Welcome to my music pages.
I have been writing song lyrics and poetry for over 40 years. I also have experience overseeing the production of my songs in professional recording studios and I work with very talented producers, composers, musicians and vocalists.
If you would like a special poem written for you, or for someone else, or if you would like a song lyric (with potential for full production), please send me a message on my contact page.

BIOGRAPHY
I started writing lyrics in 1980 at the age of 17 and had my first songs recorded, produced and performed live at the age of 19.
In 1995 my poem 'Precious Child' was published in the 'Best Book of Life and Love'.
In 2001 I won an Outstanding award for the song 'Everything Seems Different In The Dark', which I wrote with Richard Tanner and a Merit award for my song 'A Beautiful Lady - Titanic', which I wrote with Mick Cooper, both at different music festivals. I wrote this song in memory of my Great Grandfather and all those who died when Titanic sank on April 15th 1912.
I created brand new lyrics for 'The Wizard of Oz' for a school production and the finale song, 'Together As One' was specially recorded and produced as a solo piece. I also wrote lyrics for a new original play called 'Nation of Imagi', for a primary school production.
I produced and published a poetry book on Amazon, 'Poetic Wonders', which is an anthology of poems written by myself and five other very talented authors that I gathered together for the project. The book contains 90 beautiful poems, plus a full length story, written in rhyme called 'The Bear On Lonely lake', written by one of the featured authors. I also had the pleasure of recording an audio version of the story. I am more than delighted that Enoch Anderson, a prevalent lyricist endorsed the book and wrote an amazing foreword for it. The book is available worldwide.

In March 2020 I wrote a song with my co-writer A.J. Clarke called 'ONE DAY SOON', which is a song for our time during the COVID-19 crisis. A.J. and myself hope the song will bring some joy to everyone who hears it. We used the song to raise much needed funds for the NHS. The song is included on our album Another Direction.
The song - 'HUG INSIDE AN ENVELOPE' was released as a single by Jeff Pike 15/7/2020. The music was written by my collaborator and friend the late Robert Benson. The song is available to download and stream on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer and Jeffpike.com. All the links to the song are here jeffpike.hearnow.com. A portion of the lyrics are featured in the book 'Finding Strength In The Dark' by Annette Pearson.
In September 2020, Mick Cooper and I resurrected a musical we started writing in 2005, that we worked on intermittently through the years. We adapted the idea as a brand new story, worked on the songs we already had and wrote new songs for it as well. We now have a completed synopsis and script and 13 demos, which are currently waiting to be arranged and produced professionally. The musical is called ARNIE'S GYM and you can read the synopsis on my ARNIE'S GYM page on this website.
LET'S GET AWAY FROM IT ALL is a song I co wrote with A.J. Clarke and we released it on 12th July 2021. It is available to watch on YouTube and as a personal download to purchase. This is a really great uptempo, positive song with a great groove. The YouTube video of the song is below and there is also a computer download for a very small charge, which you can find at. https://ajclarkemusic.net/shop
From 2020 to November 2023, A.J. Clarke and myself worked on producing songs for an album. It has always been a big ambition of mine, to write lyrics for an album and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my writing career. There are 12 beautiful songs on the album, which represent a kaleidoscope of musical styles. Working with A.J. on this project was nothing but pure joy, excitement and fun. Below are a couple of reviews...
"Here's the beautiful thing about the new album (besides the wonderful voice), is that there is a song for every emotion and mood. Love it..."
the late Saran Hirshman
"When you hear AJs voice, you’ll notice an undeniable Barry Manilow influence. It’s not just his vocals though, the melodies are Manilowesque. As I listened from track-to-track, I’d recall the fresh emotions songs had on me as a boy. This album gave me similar feelings. Clarke wrote these songs with lyricist Rosalind Winton. The reason this album is so good is the same reason so many American Songbook classics are so good. The composer having to focus only on the melody is able to get the best possible tune. The lyricist able to focus on the words can craft the best verses possible. The songs on ‘Another Direction’ invite you to listen repeatedly. Why? Because you pick up the energy. Take the title track. ‘Another Direction’ is a reminder that even though change is hard, it can also be exciting. The 1970s brought some incredible music into the world and this album feels like it was made in the spirit of that decade, without being forced. There is great storytelling here, with songs like ‘Through The Eyes Of A Child’. It’s melancholic and meaningful. There are a couple of knockouts, like the short and anthem-like ‘One Day Soon’. It’s a beauty. And ‘Let’s Get Away From It All leaves the listeners on a ‘positive feeling.’ I’m an optimist and every now and then I like a song that reinforces my way of thinking. If Manilow had heard the demo to this back in the day, I bet he’d have wanted to record it. AJ Clarke is one to watch. Look no further than the great songwriting on his studio record ‘Another Direction’."
